Becca + Peter {Tucson Engagement Session}

Meet Becca and Peter..a cute couple from Tucson!!

Becca and Peter are getting married in late September here in Phoenix, but since they currently live in Tucson we decided to meet at UofA to shoot their engagement session.  Since Becca had booked me over the phone this was my first time meeting both her and Peter and I totally lucked out.  These two were SO easy going, fun and completely enjoyable to hang out with.

We discovered early in the session that Peter is a blinker…you know, as soon as the shutter clicks he blinks!  There’s usually one in every couple.  Peter was such a good sport as Becca and I joked continuously about this throughout the entire session.

Here are my favorite images (blinks included!).

Shooting on campus always has some surprises.  About 100 yards from where we were shooting there was an outdoor music festival.  Live performers and all…minus any actual attendees!  A rap du0 hit the stage and kept shouting, “Hands in the air!!”.  There was NO ONE within 200 yards of the stage…they were singing to themselves!!  As I told Becca and Peter to walk towards me for this next series of shots I also encouraged them to get their inner hip-hop dance on.

As we started to leave campus Becca bolted to this newspaper stand and grabbed a copy.  Turns out she likes to complete the crossword puzzle while on break at work.  Since she had to work the night shift that night (she’s a nurse) Becca was pretty stoked that she had a new crossword puzzle.

I thought it would be fun to take a few pictures in this local candy shop…who doesn’t LOVE candy right?  Answer…Peter.  We moved on after a few shots!

The lighting at this outdoor cafe was soft and beautiful.  A perfect place to end a fun engagement session!

Jenny + Adrian {Mesa Temple Engagement}

Meet Jenny and Adrian!

Jenny and Adrian are getting married later this year in Utah, but wanted to have a few engagement pictures at the Mormon Temple in Mesa.  It was easy to see from the start of our session that Jenny is completely, 100% head over heels in LOVE with Adrian.  Adrian is a little more quiet and reserved at first, but as we walked around the Temple and chatted it was clear that he was just as smitten with Jenny.

The Temple grounds are SO beautiful.  I loved all of the flower.

Oh Jenny…you are so stinking cute on the inside and out!

Jenny and Adrian it was SO much fun to meet you both and I wish you all the best for your wedding later this year!!

scottsdale engagement photographer: Megan + Ryan

Meet Megan and Ryan…can you guess what their wedding date is?

Megan and Ryan both share a love of baseball.  They met last year during spring training at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick (where the Diamond Backs and Colorado Rockies call home for Spring Training).  Megan sold programs and Ryan worked in operations.  It wasn’t long before Ryan spotted the cute girl in the program stand and asked her out.  When Ryan proposed in December they both instantly knew they wanted to have their engagement session at the baseball field.

We started in the dugout with a few pictures.  Megan is so stinking cute…I can’t wait to see her as a bride!

Ryan’s grandmother made a blanket from some of their old t-shirts.  Each patch is made from a shirt representing a significant time in their past.  What a sweet treasure to have!

Check out this gorgeous ring!

With a quick outfit change we headed to home plate for Ryan to teach Megan a thing or two about batting.

Truth be told Megan doesn’t need any batting lessons, but it was fun anyways!

As we walked around the outside of the stadium I couldn’t help taking a few pictures.  It was so nice to shoot in a new location!

One last favorite taken inside the elevator!

A special thank you to Clarice at Park Avenue Blow Dry and Beauty Bar who styled Megan’s hair for our shoot and a big THANK YOU to Micheal Bouscher, Director of Operations, for getting us special access to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick for the entire sessions!

Gilbert Engagement Photographer: {Chris + Briana}

Meet Chris and Briana.  They were married this last October.  Although I wasn’t able to photograph their wedding since I had just had Andrew I thought I would share some of my favorite images from their engagement session.

I couldn’t get enough of Briana’s awesome shoes.  When I first met with Briana her hair was dyed pink.  When she showed up to the engagement session with brown hair I was a little relieved.  When I saw her brightly colored shoes I was even more relieved that she was still rocking things in her own style!

I don’t know why, but when I ask couples to kiss they always laugh…I think it’s a good sign!

I had Briana sit in this chair and I told Chris to s-l-o-w-l-y get up and kiss her and cuddle a little.  It’s kind of the same technique I talked about in this post for photographers.

More kissing and laughing.

When I asked Chris how excited he was when it came to wedding planning this was his reaction.  100% genuine excitement I’m sure!

Glendale Engagement Photographer: Sean + Kate

Meet Sean and Kate!

You will be seeing a lot of them.  I just shot their engagement session and I am shooting their wedding tomorrow at the Wigwam!

Kate contacted me several months ago after a fellow teacher recommended me.  Her co-worker is also a photographer and contacted me for a few tips.  Fast forward thru becoming Facebook friends and whalla…a new client referral from someone I’ve never even met face-to-face.  Aww…the power of Facebook!

Sean and Kate were so much fun to hang out with.  We discovered that Kate and I have a similar sense of humor and that Sean is a kindred spirit to my husband, but more on that later!

I told Sean to whisper something sassy in Kate’s ear.  I love her reaction!

I mentioned that Sean is a kindred spirit to my husband.  They both share a passion for let’s just say “conservative fiscal spending”.

Turning the heater on in the dead of winter is considered utter defeat, coupons are like Willy Wanka’s golden ticket and haircuts are $10 or less.  I might be exaggerating a little tiny bit, but Kate and I thought it was hilarious and laughed all the way thru their session!

Sean was such a good sport!

They really are so cute together!

Sean and Kate I can’t wait to see you both tomorrow for your big day!
